Happy Saturday — oops!

Notion has been down for over 12 hours and I am DISTRAUGHT. I got things to do and writing the Friday Report is one of them. I have a template that I use to fill in my notes from the week, write out the content, copy + paste into ConvertKit and boom! Send it to you.

So now it’s 10AM in PDC and I’m chugging coffee while I draft this in Google Docs. Que archaic? I can’t even paste in my content while retaining the formatting and the links!

But we move.

I had a maepiphany last weekend while struggling through the realest sinus infection I’ve ever had that how you eat when you’re sick is probably how your body wants to eat all the time.

I’m a pretty strict vegan when I’m sick and my body has been asking begging me to go vegan for a while now. Will I accept the challenge and comply?

Find out next time on DragonBall Z.

One thing that I love about my adult life is that year after year, the foods that I used to eat on the regular become snacks.

Pizza in college was a staple and now it’s a very rare treat. Meat substitutes, chips, bread, Gatorade, rice, fried foods… All things that I used to eat almost daily are now here and there indulgences and I LOVE that.

I’ve never struggled to love healthy foods (veggies are my bestie). It’s moreso about letting go of the cravings for less-than-optimal foods. And I love watching that happen naturally. #alignment

So grab some kale chips (or some French fries) and…

Let’s dive in!

  • Have you Amaericans been paying attention to the inflation rate? There’s a never-ending amount of economic theories, some of which say all is well and some that say to be alarmed. I’m not concerned either way, but I am slightly annoyed because the Maexican peso is tied to USD.
  • Skinny jeans are over I guess, but I wear jeans maybe once a year so whatevs.
  • I was so invested in the Colonial Pipeline hack this week. They ended up paying the hackers roughly $5 million in ransom. 🤯 I loved this podcast about how big entreprises basically have to budget for hacks like this and the Amaerican rules for paying ransoms. The US prefers that companies don’t pay the hackers, but they can’t say shit because they gotta do what they gotta do. BUT if the hackers are based in somewhere like Iran, then the US company absolutely cannot pay ransom or they’ll face legal action.
  • Patagonia is iconic and gives me hope. This is what we mean when we say “ally”. I love that people associate my brand with charitable donations and I’m so excited to take it to the next level moving forward. I can make bank and still be about social justice.
  • This tweet hit hard. If I need to be the villain in someone’s story, idc anymore. I’m no longer proving my “good”.
  • Live footage of when the clock got invented. 😂
  • Came across this easy recipe and neeeed. I’m not really into sweets so this is my kind of dessert.
  • This video on how to see evolution in our bodies is wilddd. Can you move your ears?
  • My favorite language classes have always been phonetics classes. Ever notice that a lot of Asians mix up l’s and r’s? This explanation is 🔥🔥.

What’s up with me?

  • I’ll be spending the summer developing my biggest offer to date and I’M HYPE! I’ll also be working individually with small businesses on automaetion™️ while offering accountability coaching to individuals. And I’m so excited for a nomad mentorship that I’ll be starting next week. I was maed for this. 😍 My schedule is already packed so holla at me ASAP if you’d like to work with me 1:1 this summer.
  • I feel better, BUT I’m going to go to the damn doctor. Booooo. 🙄 It’s time and I just don’t feel like my best self. And considering how much I’ve accomplished this past week while sick, can you imagine what I’ll do when I’m 100% again?
  • I found a home! It’s been almost one month bouncing between countries like a true bag lady and I’m so excited to get settled again and feed my frands!
  • Next week is 20 weeks of the Friday Report — ah! I’m so proud of myself for the commitment (my word of the year) and the consistency (my word for last year). Be sure to read ASAP next week, they’ll def be a likkle giveaway to celebrate.

Quote of the week:

“I’m a student not a guru.”

-#245 had an impromptu book club last weekend and read Anything You Want by Derek Sivers. It’s a book of 40 business lessons and legit takes no more than an hour. Highly recommended. I learned a lot and even implemented a few things immediately after I finished reading.

Track of the Week

Spotify, the greatest to ever do it, put me on to Jay Glavany and OMG. His voice, his vibe, the moodiness? His song Surrender has been on heavy rotation and the Sabrina Claudio sample?! 🤤 Listen on…

Ever wonder why I talk about confidence and self love so much? No? Well let me tell you anyway!

Imagine if everyone was super confident and genuinely had love for themselves? People who love themselves and accept all their qualities, good and bad, don’t judge others. They lead with love. They give grace to you because they give grace to themselves. They give love to you because they have so much overflowing in them that they have some to spare.

Imagine that kind of world. A world of respect and smiles and laughs with strangers and no side eyes, no self-deprecating comments masked as jokes and no animosity toward strangers just because they love the shit out of themselves. That’s my dream world.

And luckily I’ve crafted that dream world for myself with the people that I keep around me but I, maybe naively, dream of a world where that’s how everyone moves. I speak so highly of others because I speak so highly of myself.

If you ever want to get clear on how you really feel about yourself, pay attention to how you speak about others. You mae surprise yourself.

Stay confident,
Maegan
