Quote of the Week

“If you don’t know what you want, no one can help you.”

-My homie and forever cheerleader, Lovell, on the importance of knowing what you want. (This particularly resonated with me because few things irk my soul like someone asking me for help yet not knowing what they need.)

Happy 40th Friday Report!

Did you know that 40 in Roman numerals is XL?

I cannot believe I’ve been so consistent with this. If you have a goal and there’s a way for you to broadcast that goal, I highly recommend it.

Shoutout to you for following along. I really appreciate hearing how much you enjoy these updates, especially since I feel like we get so. many. emails. I support everyone’s hustle, but some people send out so many that I don’t get how I’m expected to keep up.

On that note, if you’re working on newsletters of your own, please make sure you’re sending out valuable content rather than just sending shit to send shit.

Wednesday’s new moon had an emphasis on balance. I’ve been heavily reflective about my business. Is the business I’m running today aligned with my original mission?

Absolutely not.

At first, I was discouraged about that. But then I said “Stfu, Maegan. You good.” Whenever I encounter any challenge, I take it as practice. I’m gonna be in this exact situation again so why not get my practice in now?

I have a pretty clear vision of the changes that I need to make to get my business back on track and I look forward to sharing them with you. My purpose is to help the masses create the lives of their dreams and I promise to be relentless with that mission.

What about you? Do you feel like your daily tasks align with the life that you envision for yourself? If you’re a business owner, do you feel like your business is thriving in a way that’s manageable for you? If you’re an employee, is your role aligned with your end goal?

Before you reflect on if you need to pivot and how…

Let’s dive in!

  • I started this new podcast called 544 Days and it’s so good. It’s about this Iranian American guy who was locked in solitary confinement in Iran for 544 days. He eventually was released because his family (and even Obama and Anthony Bourdain) did not let up.
  • I love this thread on Calendly etiquette for sending your booking link to someone without coming off like a douche. My passion for efficiency leads me to not care how the link is received and it makes things easier for both of us sooo…
  • Look at me watching sports docs! Really it’s because I love anything related to scams and scandals (am I the drama?!). The first episode of this Netflix series was SO GOOD. It’s about Stevin “Hedake” Smith engaging in point shaving and eventually getting caught by the FBI.
  • Remember the mountain town I was just in, San Cristobal? More sugary drinks are sold there than anywhere else in the world. The wildest part of this was the notion of “healing” with Coca Cola.
  • My favorite favorite new podcast is one called Armored. It’s about a bunch of Armored truck heists from all over the world and the craziest part is that a lot of the cases have never been solved. This is my favorite episode so far about this man who plotted for over a year, didn’t harm anyone and moved to a whole new country with his family after his successful robbery.
  • I’m tryna go to Lebanon, ASAP. 😋
  • All of the production shortages in China mean there’s a massive paper shortage happening right now. This quick listen was muy interesting because I didn’t consider how many products need paper. Paper shortages affect everything like wine (bottle labels). In August 2021 paper cost 50% more than it did the year prior. 🤯 While there are alternatives to adjust like buying Kindle books instead of physical ones, physical paper is needed for things like toilet paper, duh.
  • With that in mind, this is a reminder that even when the world is quite literally on fire, it doesn’t mean you have to be. I aim to be super mindful of the Friday Report content because I truly hope that these newsletters bring you nothing but smiles. If that’s ever not the case, please lmk.

What’s up with me?

  • Today’s my last day in Puerto Morelos. I spent the morning in Power Hours (hey Asia!). I’m back to Playa tomorrow for 2 weeks and then I’ll treat myself to a few weeks of exploring Maexico. These are the times I absolutely love digital nomadness. I’ve perfected the art of working from anywhere I damn want to.
  • On the flip side, I feel super antsy because I feel kinda stuck here. My homie Desiree is hosting a retreat in November (and I’m a facilitator — holla for a promo code). Otherwise, I’d leave now. I can’t wait to share with you where I’m moving to next! Any guesses?
  • I have my last check-in with my doctor tomorrow. 🎉 I’m still recovering from parasites taking over my entire body, but I haven’t had this much energy in a long time.
  • Life is beautiful. I’ve grown so much this past year that I sometimes don’t even recognize myself. To everyone who’s been a part of my life over the past year, whether a new friend or old, I really love you and I’ll never forget you for being a part of such a pivotal time.

Track of the Week

This week’s track is courtesy of sexy ass Lucky Daye (who is somehow 36 — melanin is wild). I’ve been playing Over on repeat because the Musiq Soulchild Halfcrazy sample is magical. ✨ Listen or watch on…

Das it for me! Can you believe I’m sending this so early in the day? Iconic.

I hope you have the weekend of your dreams, whatever that looks like to you. I’m off to shut my brain all the way off and spend my afternoon in a spa getting a few beauty treatments which is absolutely my favorite way to spend a Friday afternoon.

Stay ready to pivot,
Maegan
