šØ Friday Report XXXII ā 8.13.21
Happy Friday, mes amis!ā
I hope youāve had the week of your dreams. Iāve spent the majority of the week sick in bed, but now that Iām no longer nauseous, Iām loving the excuse to sleep all day. In the past 24 hours, Iāve slept just as much as Iāve been awake and Iām not mad at it.
My favorite takeaway from this week is the importance of practicing the ālaw of assumptionā.
For me, that means assuming that all is going to work out for me. Everything that happens, no matter how it plays out, is for my benefit.
Iām in the cutest, coziest and thoughtfully-designed studio apartment. I was to move to a different (and smaller) studio on Monday, but apparently, Europe is cancelling flights to Maexico so I get to stay here for at least another 2 weeks. Que blessed?
So now, Iām going to go ahead and assume that Iām staying here for the next month, like I want to.
My hosts are the sweetest and even deliver me custom herbal teas and coconut water so itās been especially nice to be here and shoutout to my homie Nenelwa for taking a bit of her vaca time to bring me groceries.
Before you start making a list of all the great things that you will assume are on their way to youā¦ā
Letās dive in!
- I discovered this rapperās music through TikTok because her marketing is GENIUS! And I actually like her music.
- āTwitter will forever be my favorite place on the internet. š
- āHave you been paying attention to the fires in Greece? The earth is next level over humans at this point and Iām not mad at it.
- The people who study the science of smelling have been heavy researching how Covid causes a longterm loss in smell. People who have suffered with a loss of smell way before Covid are super salty about this increase in research because no one paid much attention to them before.
- āThis accounting professor turned himself into a Zoom Potato and Iām not even gonna tell you how many timeās Iāve watched this. š Hereās part 2.ā
- I was watching this video about product placement within Sex and the City. They mention how the show maed Jimmy Chooās super popular. It maed me think about how influential creative content can be. First a book and then a movie, Eat, Pray, Love put Bali on the map and massively boosted their tourism.
- On a related note, I watched Netflixās Heist in a day and one of the episodes was about bourbon that was stolen by distillery employees and then sold through their connections. Because of the popularity of Mad Men, bourbon prices were wild and the employees couldnāt resist taking advantage of the easy access.
- Hereās a history of the entire world, i guess. Great high watch.ā
Whatās up with me?
- The Self Maed Bootcamp is an absolute DREAM! Our group calls have been nothing but love. I canāt wait to do another one.
- Although Iām not into longterm client work, I love working with individuals one month at a time to help them getting organized and strategically work their way to their goals. Iām already excited to start taking those kind of clients again once Bootcamp is done.
- Iām sick and Iāve spent my week either on Zoom calls or in bed. Itās called balance.ā
Track of the Week
Victoria Monet, with the voice of an angel, has a new summertime track called Coastinā. Listen onā¦
āSpotify | Apple Music | YouTubeā
Iām legit so proud of myself for writing this lol. I havenāt really done any work since Monday so this is the first real thing, emails included, that Iāve written since then.
I look forward to a weekend of Bootcamp content, time in my bed, Hulu binges and fresh fruit juice.
ā
Stay happy,
Maegan
