2022 is the year of the Self Maed entrepreneur. Subscribe to the Self Maed Report for a behind-the-scenes look into my business progress, new ventures, success stories and lessons learned.

This is lesson 7 of 11 after 1 year in business.

And I’m not talking money. I’m talking feedback!

I take note of all the feedback I receive. I do so with a super simple Notion board. Here’s a free template — I included my categories for inspo.

Whether you’re a business owner or an employee, a feedback tracker is key. Notion board, Google Doc, who cares? Use what works for you.

If you work for someone else, keep track of feedback from your superiors and teammates so that when it’s time for raise negotiations you can come ready with documentation on how you’ve positively impacted your team and the company.

If you’re a business owner or freelancer, track feedback because:

  • This shit’s hard; some days you need that extra push. I reread my feedback often for a boost of morale.
  • Impact over income. Selling is cool and income is imperative for a successful business, but equally important to me is knowing that my products and services are empowering my customers.
  • For testimonials! Whether sales pages, social media promo or your website’s homepage, with a tracker you’ll always have testimonials to secure your next sale.
  • It shows you care. My audience knows that I’m always open to their feedback because I ask for it often.

A lot of my clients avoid gathering feedback because they’re scared of negatives, but if you truly want to nurture your audience and refine your offerings how can you do so without knowing how your customers feel?

Feedback is nothing to be scared of and ALL feedback is good feedback. If you truly care about the direction of your business and your consumer-base, start collecting feedback ASAP!

I collect feedback a few ways:

  • Most of it comes to me organically. ♥
  • I send feedback requests after workshops.
  • I post questions on my IG Stories to ask how I’ve helped my followers.

I know it’s scary to even think about getting negative feedback when you pour so much of yourself into your business, but I promise it’s worth it.

Stay brave,
Maegan
