2022 is the year of the Self Maed entrepreneur. Subscribe to the Self Maed Report for a behind-the-scenes look into my business progress, new ventures, success stories and lessons learned.

This is lesson 8 of 11 after 1 year in business.

“Your self confidence will determine how far you will go and how much money you will receive.”

The success of your business is a direct reflection of your sense of self worth. It shows in your branding, your pricing, your marketing, your goals, your self-promotion, everything.

If you don’t believe that you’re worthy of a successful business or you’re not confident in your power to run the business of your dreams, then you’re just clinging to a wish.

A lot of people associate imposter syndrome with a lack of confidence, but…

I don’t think imposter syndrome necessarily indicates a lack of confidence and I’m not convinced that those imposter vibes ever go away. What does change is how you respond to those imposing thoughts.

I expect to always level up and so I’ve kinda assumed at this point that I’m going to have times when I doubt my talents and capabilities. I definitely go through that now.

And then I get over it and keep it moving because my self confidence brings me back to reality. I interpret imposter syndrome as an indicator that 1) I’m doing something right and 2) I’m nervous/doubtful because I care about my business and my community.

Some of the most successful humans that I know frequently experience imposter syndrome and the one thing that they have in common is that they keep it moving. They don’t let a few moments of self doubt stop them from reaching the dreams that they’ve created for themselves.

So which is holding you back — imposter syndrome or a lack of confidence?
